Brecht and the V-Effect.
The V- Effect is extremely effective in theatre. We used it in a drill sergeant scene where we used the word “Grapes”. The repetitiveness was extremely effective and humorous at the same time. The audience knew what the scene was about, however the V-Effect still had an impact on the scene.

When using 1 word, it’s easier to change your tone and volume when speaking. It is also more interesting for the audience because in other situations, they could try and make out what the actors are saying. The drill sergeant scene was very self explanatory, however if it was expanded on, the V-Effect could’ve been much nicer to watch for the audience.

Brecht’s theatre is very artistic and unique. It gives play or a scene a whole new flow and sometimes changes the meaning too. Once worked on and adjusted our scene can be very powerful.
